My Finest Work Yet is a strong collection of music buoyed by Bird’s mastery as a musician, recognizable whistling melodies, and thoughtful lyrics.

"Bellevue Bridge Club" lands somewhere between Van Morrison, Richie Havens and--if only thanks to his violin's drones--The Velvet Underground, while "Manifest" is like a sober Townes Van Zandt. [May 2019, p.24]

Andrew somehow turns these high concepts into amazingly fun and appealing pop songs that aren't on the nose, aren't prescriptive or patronizing.

Rufus Wainwright-goes-to-grad-school lushness dominates, though, and despite Bird's Death Of Marat pose on the cover, My Finest Work is not quite revolutionary. [May 2019, p.93]

Finest work, indeed. Andrew Bird constantly tops himself with each new album release, but if the two current tracks from this are anywhere near as good as the rest then this is truly his finest work. Amazing artwork as well, the teasers for the Sisyphus video are blowing me away already. I am beyond excited for everything to be released. Andrew Bird spans genres and generations and everyone should give this a listen. ❤️
