Ummmmm... My take on the first track, You Had Your Soul with You, as it is currently the only track available. I find it to be only "meh" at this point. I tend to gravitate to the darker side of The National, in terms of both lyrics and sound. This track sounds a bit like spillover from the EL VY project. I wasn't exactly overjoyed with that either. Here's hoping the rest of the album has more to offer.

Weakest One Yet Let me start by saying that the National are one of the best bands out there. They’ve been putting out good solid records for ages. They’ve set the bar high for themselves. These new songs aren't awful they just seem forgettable. I can’t see myself playing these for ages like the rest of the Nationals stuff. These early singles feel like B-sides.

Amazing! The song light years has a piano sonata feel to it, and the piano is stunningly beautiful. Seeing them live in September. For a third or fourth time! Can't wait!
