The first album from Tool in 13 years is finally coming soon after they finished recording it.
The last time Tool put out an album was in 2006 but you won't have to wait much longer for their new album. The band said in 2018 they are working on new music and at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards in June 2018 they said for the record they worked on some new music and it will be out in 2019. Now in January 2019, Maynard James Keenan, the lead vocalist, tweeted that they recorded it and are just working on mixing it.

The new album could be out by May 2019. They haven't said when to expect the album exactly but the band has a tour that starts in May and goes through July which means they might put it out before then so they can play from it depending on how long it takes them to mix it. Maynard James Keenan said that mixing can take a long time so it's not known if they will have it done before the tour or need to wrap it up for the end of the year, but they have touring booked from May until July and if they add dates that could pressure them into releasing it in the next few months. Or maybe they just warm people up with their old tracks and come back with the new album at the end of the year. Either way a new albums likely coming from them by the end of the year after a 13 year wait.
